Sponsored by Helping Our Own Destiny (HOOD), the event will feature a march from the Kearny Palms Shopping Center to City Hall, as well as an information fair for AIDS awareness and prevention in City Hall Plaza after the march.Volunteers for Change-Fresno members are invited to participate in both the march and the health fair afterward by staffing our health-fair booth. Booth activities will include registering voters, providing information about healthcare reform, and children's activities, such as games and coloring-book pages focused on health and safety.
Planning to march? Assemble at 7:15 a.m. outside the Kearny Palms Shopping Center, at the corner of Fresno and C Streets near downtown. The march is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., and will proceed along a roughly one-mile route to City Hall Plaza in downtown Fresno.
Staffing the booth? To help set up the booth, meet at 8 a.m. at City Hall Plaza. V4CF members marching are also invited to help staff the booth during the health fair at one of two shifts, beginning at either 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. We also plan to help clean up City Hall Plaza by picking up trash after the events.
Want to participate? Contact V4CF event organizer Kris Arden at (559) 978-1736 or via e-mail. Please let Kris know if you plan to participate as a marcher, a booth staffer, or both. If you plan to staff the booth, also let Kris know whether you prefer the 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. shift.
We hope to see you there Saturday!
