Wanna get your hands dirty?
Join our 'Call to Action' this Saturday

Connie Peterson, coordinator for our Community Garden "Call to Action," reports that more than 20 people have volunteered to "get their hands dirty" this Saturday on behalf of the West Fresno Health Care Coalition's "Watch Us Grow" project. We'll be conducting a bit of Spring cleaning in its community garden, so the youth of Watch Us Grow can better prepare for Spring planting.

We're proud of the number of members answering this Call to Action. And we invite those those wanting to serve the community while spending a nice morning in the garden to sign up now. As always, it's "the more, the merrier." (So we can have an accurate head count, volunteers must sign up to participate.)

Sign up by contacting Call to Action coordinator Connie Peterson at (559) 325-8941 or via e-mail
. Plan to bring water and snacks. And to help increase V4CF’s visibility in the community, please wear your Obama shirts and "flair" to the Action. Finally, because this will truly be a “hands-on” project, participants are also strongly encouraged to bring their own gloves, rakes, Hula Hoes and other garden tools for their own use. Let's dig in!

Visit us, sign up for OFA's 'Pledge Project'
at next Sunday's 'Rally in the Valley'

Heading to Rally in the Valley next Sunday? Don't forget to stop by our Volunteers For Change-Fresno informational table, scheduled to be open 1-4 p.m. next Sunday, March 22, during the Rally.

We invite you to get to know us, and to learn more about V4CF's activities in support of President Obama's agenda. We'll also offer opportunities to support those national initiatives by signing on to Organizing For America's "Pledge Project" right at our table.

The Rally will also feature speakers Cindy Sheehan, peace activist, and Roberto Rodriguez, syndicated columnist, and will feature live music by The Raging Grannies and two other groups. It'll take place in Eaton Plaza, by the Water Tower in downtown Fresno.

Planning to attend? Let us know by signing up at our page on the Organizing For America website. See you Sunday!
