Healthcare reform Call to Action scheduled this Thursday, June 25, at Sen. Feinstein's offices

As promised at our most recent Volunteers For Change-Fresno meeting, we're invited to participate in a Call to Action in support of healthcare reform.

That action? As part of a statewide effort this Thursday, all V4CF members are invited to participate in a rally outside the Fresno office of Senator Diane Feinstein, who despite being one of the most influential Senators on Capitol Hill has remained silent about President Obama's healthcare-reform efforts.

Called "The Rally for Health Reform and Against Budget Cuts to Health," this Call to Action is scheduled 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, outside Senator Feinstein's office at 2500 E. Tulare St. in downtown Fresno.

Jessica Rothhaar of Health Access -- the same organization that brought Linda Leu to Fresno to speak with V4CF about healthcare reform June 9 -- is the event's organizer. Jessica will arrange for several speakers to participate, and will lead the small group that plans to meet with Senator Feinstein's staff at 10:30 that morning. Health Access will also hold a press conference during the rally, designed to gain attention for supporting healthcare reform now.

Participants are encouraged to bring and display their banners in support of the "public option." Also, Jessica is seeking three volunteers with clipboards to circulate petitions asking lawmakers support the "public option" in healthcare reform. The completed petitions will be sent to Senator Feinstein after the rally. She's also looking for someone willing to take photos at the event. Willing to help? Let us know.
